Humans crave comfort. šŸ’• From sweet treats 🧁, familiar television shows šŸ“ŗ, and warm blankets ✨, it’s normal to want to feel warm and fuzzy. The problem ā€¼ļø with that is sometimes growth requires one to struggle and be uncomfortable. This is the central premise of my short play ā€œThe Art of the Avoidance.ā€ šŸ“š

Jessica is sick of her ex-boyfriend Sam avoiding her at work events so she makes a plan to break the ice at šŸŽØ a gallery opening — only to discover she’s avoiding other aspects of her life as well. 😳

This quirky comedy was published this summer as part of the New Voices Anthology of Short Plays: Summer 2026 Edition. 🄳 I was so excited about it but also overwhelmed with my first ever performed play ā€œMotherhood Either/Orā€ that I neglected to promote it. 🫣 Now is the time to make up for that oversight.

šŸŽ‰ You can get your very own copy of the Anthology here! šŸŽ‰ Beyond my own play, it's full of great work by my fellow New Voices members.
