My heart is so full. I am overjoyed to announce my short play “Motherhood Either/Or” will be produced by New Voices Playwrights Theatre at the Chance Theatre on August 22 and 23 at 2 p.m. It will be a part of a larger afternoon of short plays. This is the first time one of my works has gone from page to the stage. When a single lawyer’s frozen embryos force a decision, she puts motherhood on trial with help from her two closest friends—a devoted mother and a childfree career woman. I’m overwhelmed by the synchronicity of it all. The venue is where I had my first professional acting job while in college. The director, Taylor Thorne, is a dear friend. The actors bringing my characters to life are all amazing, talented friends whom I have worked with before, Jessie Pyle, Tanya Raise, and Jennifer Marks. Jessie, Tanya and I met when doing “Anne of Green Gables: the Musical” at the Chance. Jen was the Lucy to my Sally. The icing on the cake is I am also performing in this Summer Voices collection in a play by Nikki Pearson entitled “When Your Time Is Up.” It asks the question: if you could know when and how you would died, would you want to? I am being directed by the lovely Karen Wray and performing alongside the guitar playing Brittany Berin. It's a mini Pandora: the Musical reunion. Tickets and the run are extremely limited so if you are interested in coming, don’t delay. Here is the ticket link. I’d love to see you there.
